Encodable Chars


Code 93 is designed to encode 26 upper case letters:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z
10 digits: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
and 7 special characters: -, ., $, /, +, %, SPACE.

Asterisk*

The Code 93 start and stop character, i.e. the asterisks*, is positioned on either end of the human-readable, and will not be encoded as data or transmitted by reader.

Checksum Digit


The Code 93 barcode requires two check characters which are referred to as "C" and "K". These two check characters immediately follow the encoded message itself and precede the final stop character.
