Excel Barcode Add-In - Installation Requirements

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Office 2007 PIA
  • .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
  • Windows Installer 3.1
  • VSTO 3.0 Runtime SP1

Setup Process:

  1. Download Excel Barcode Add-In and extract it;
  2. Close all Excel spreadsheets;
  3. Run the setup file named "setup.exe" with auto-direction;
  4. Open an Excel and a "Microsoft Office Customization Installer" window will pop up immediately;
  5. Click "Install" and Excel Barcode Add-In will appear under the "Add-Ins" tab.
Note that, if Excel Barcode Add-In doesn’t appear under the "Add-Ins" tab after the above steps, please do as follows:
  1. Click "Office Button" > "Excel Options" > "Trust Center"> "Trust Center Setting..." > "Add-ins";
  2. Undo "Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality)" and click "OK";
  3. Click "Office Button" > "Excel Options" > "Add-Ins" > "COM Add-ins" (from the "manage" pull-down menu) > "Go";
  4. A popup window appears and please select "OnBarcode Excel 2007 AddIn" and click "OK";
  5. Switch to "Add-Ins" tab to make sure that Excel Barcode Add-In is valid now.

A Single Barcode Generation on Excel

  1. Open your target Excel document and click "Create Barcode" under "Add-Ins" tab to activate Excel Barcode Add-In. A barcode setting panel pops up immediately for implementation;
  2. Select a target cell and choose the target barcode type in the "barcode type" pop-up list like Code 39, Code 128, EAN-13, GS1 128, Data Matrix, QR Code, PDF 417, etc;
  3. Enter data with your need in the "data" box;
  4. Adjust the parameters that are required like bar width and height, image width and height, margins, bar alignment, orientation, etc;
  5. Click "Generate" to display the target barcode image on the chosen cell of Excel.
If there is some requirement to customize the generated barcode, please select it and adjust the needed parameters in the setting panel. After that, click "Update" for the updated barcode image. Alternatively, you can delete the barcode by clicking "Delete" button and generate a new one.

Barcode List Creation on Excel

  1. Open the Excel Barcode Add-In;
  2. Select a list of cells with data and choose the target barcode type in the "barcode type" pop-up list;
  3. Customize the parameters that you need like bar width and height, barcode width and height, margins, rotation angle, bar alignment, etc;

  4. Click "Generate" and a list of barcodes are generated on Excel as required.

Link Barcode to Certain Cell on Excel

It is easy to generate dynamic barcode with the help of "link to cell" button. The barcode can update automatically with the content of the linked cell.
  1. Select the generated barcode and click "link to cell";
  2. Select the target cell with data;
  3. Click "Update" where "link to cell" button is located;
  4. The barcode is dynamically linked to the target cell.
